Joy School

SAHEN's first co-op class started in September, 2000.  It is a preschool aged class, focused on teaching our children to be truly happy and joyful in life.  The curriculum is based on the book Teaching Your Children Joy by Richard and Jane Eyre, and is built around joy -- with the philosophy that happy children become strong students and well adjusted adults.  For three and four-year olds, "J.Q." (Joy Quotient) is more important than I.Q.   The units are:

    1.   The Joy of the Body

    2.   The Joy of the Earth

    3.   The Joy of Honesty and Candor

    4.   The Joy of Communication and Relationships

    5.   The Joy of Sharing and Service

    6.   The Joy of Goal Striving

    7.   The Joy of Obedience and Decisions

    8.   The Joy of Interest and Curiosity

    9.   The Joy of Spontaneous Delight

    10.   The Joy of Trust and Confidence

    11.   The Joy of Individual Confidence and Uniqueness

    12.   The Joy of Imagination and Creativity

    13.   The Joy of Family Security, Identity and Pride

The classes meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30-11:30 AM at the Church of God (Seventh Day) in China Grove, TX.  Registration is open to children born in 1996 and 1997.  Fees are $30 for registration, and $30 a month, with some parent involvement required.  For more information, please e-mail us!
